David McMillan, Camp Director - In his first year as Head Cross-country and Track coach at Durango High School, Coach Mac led the
Demons to 9th (boys) and 12th (girls) places at the 4A State XC meet this past fall.
Coach Mac was a 2-time All American at Penn State University in track and cross-country.  He qualified for the US OLympic trials in the 1500m, and ran professionally for Saucony after college, competing on the roads and in cross country.

He has run personal bests ranging from 3:52.14 in the mile, and a 63:01 for the 1/2 marathon. Coach Mac is excited about teaching all COHIPAC campers about all aspects of track and running.

Dante Baken, Track & Field - Coach Baken competed as a middle distance athlete and pole vaulter in high school. He then went on to play rugby in college (good man). Coach Baken works with the DHS sprinters and vaulters and is a 4th grade teacher at Riverview Elementary school in Durango. Coach Baken is famous for his wonderful "words of the week" WOW> Ask him about them sometime!

Johnny Bertrand, Track & Field - Coach Johnny has quickly developed the reputation as one of the top sprints and jumps coaches in 4-corners region, by combining his passion for strength and power with the ability to get kids accelerating down the runways to big improvements. Coach Johnny has the knack for getting his athletes stronger and faster and when not coaching them, can be seen working on his own sprinting skills.
